DG Candidate Lion Paul Hawkins

 

Our Lions Club is proud to announce and endorse Lion Paul Hawkins as a  District Governor Candidate for 22-C 2008-2009 the first from the Olney Lions Club.  Lion Paul was VDG this year.  If you know Lion Paul, you know how well qualified he is and what his energy, enthusiasm and leadership can do for 22-C.  He and District Governor have made a great pair. 

 

Lion Paul was sponsored into the Olney Club in 1988 by then KL Hugh Davies in the midst of the Troop 264 raid.   After serving as Tail Twister and two years as Secretary, he was elected President, serving consecutive terms in 1993-94 and 1994-95.  He went on to serve at the District 22C level as Zone Chairman, Region Chairman, Leadership Chairman, Membership Chairman, and Cabinet Treasurer.   Lion Paul served a second time as the King Lion in 2004-2005 and when his term was over his wife Lion Dee Hawkins was elected as club President.  Lion Dee Hawkins now serves on the District 22-C Board as the administrative Assistance to DG Ted Ladd.  Lion Paul held position in the District and was elected to VDG in 2007.

  

Paul is currently employed with Computer Sciences Corporation on the IRS Modernization Program.  He and Dee are the proud parents of  Dr. Chris Hawkins, who resides in Emmaus, PA with his wife Maribeth and the grandchildren, Joanna, Emmett, and Grant.

New Members 

 

On Tuesday June 2007 newly elected Vice District Governor Paul Hawkins inducted Larry Mendenhall and Larry Pendelton into your club.  Their sponsors were Lion Mike Fakete and Lon Anderson.  Nice to have you aboard.  On March 11th. 2008 we inducting Ms. Cindy Whitehead.  Lion Clyde Unglesbee our most experienced Lion who was her sponsor will be doing the induction.  Congratulation!.

 

 The Suasage and Pancake Breakfast was a Big Success

 

The club was very please with this event.  We work with the Knights of Columbus and we make a great team.  We had a great turn out from the community and it was an increase over last year.  The ads collected by both the Knights and the Lions were significantly higher then last year.  The members were reminded to send thank you notes or contact all of the ad sponsors and thank them for their support.  THANK YOU OLNEY.
